the attackers returned to Solhan
According to information from RFI, the armed men returned to the village of Solhan, which was attacked on the night of June 4-5, leaving more than a hundred dead. After the victims were buried and the elements in Sebba’s military unit left, they blew up the village on Saturday night.
It was around 9 pm local time when these terrorist armed groups returned to the village of Solhan, directed the night before by an attack that left more than a hundred dead. They were many, some sources speak of at least 200 warriors.
According to our sources, they were divided into three groups. The first had a collision with Burkinabè soldiers in the village of Baniaba, not far from Solhan. To prevent the Burkinabè soldiers from advancing, these armed men placed improvised explosive devices on the roads.
The other group returned to Solhan. It is this group that continued the looting and incineration of everything that had still remained as material goods in place. They stayed in the village for several hours before leaving, according to our sources. As for the third group, it went against Mansila, which raises fears of a new attack in this area, in our coming days, according to our sources.
National mourning followed in the capital. The flags were half-mast at the level of public administration. That was not the mood during big days, especially weekends in Ouagadougou. Maquis, restaurants, bars and others opened their doors, but there was no music.
The capital’s musical radios have modified their programming to make room for softer music … The closing night of the Ouaga Jazz Festival, one of the largest jazz festivals in Africa, which was to take place at the French Institute in Ouagadougou, was simply interrupted and postponed until next Tuesday.
