Pep Guardiola seems to confirm Eric Garcia’s transfer to Barcelona
Pep Guardiola has only confirmed that Manchester City defender Eric Garcia is about to move to Barcelona this summer.
The Spaniard has played briefly for City this season after making 20 appearances in all competitions last semester and played just four Premier League appearances this season.

He was completely absent from the city squad that won Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Tottenham when Aymeric Laporte went home eight minutes from time to secure a 1-0 victory and their fourth success in a row.

The 20-year-old’s contract at Etihad will expire this summer and he has been linked to a return to Catalonia for several months now.
Speaking after the match, Guardiola seemed to confirm the Spanish compatriots’ imminent move to Camp Nou. He said, as quoted by Sky Sports: “I would love to have 15 Eric Garcias for his way of dealing with his behavior. He always thinks of the team. He always has a good face in good or bad moments. He helps the boss and the backroom staff all the time. .
“He’s going to be in an incredible team and when people say they’m dissatisfied if I do not play I think of Eric.
It’s a beautiful morning! ?

“For the most part, he is not on the bench because he will move to Barcelona, I hope so. It’s tough, but that’s what it is.”
Garcia’s deal with Barça is likely to be the reason why he is sinking in the chin, although Ruben Dias has had a fine first season in Manchester, John Stones reappears as one of the country’s finest midfielders, and Laporte’s qualities have been well documented for a couple of years.
At the same time as City’s hopes of a foursome were knocked out in the FA Cup, they are still expected to finish the Premier League title immediately and face Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday night.
