Chelsea barely lose to Bayern Munich and PSG draw with Barcelona
Chelsea lost 2-1 to Bayern Munich in the first match of the pair’s Champions League semi-final on Sunday, where Barcelona made it 1-1 with Paris Saint-Germain in the second round.
We are guaranteed to witness a first winner of this year’s competition with Lyon – who have lifted the last five trophies – dumped by PSG in the quarterfinals.

Chelsea started slowly in Bayern with the hosts taking the lead through Sydney Lohmann in 12 minutes. The German took advantage of an error from Blues goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger and nodded home from close range.
Just over ten minutes later, the English side took a potentially decisive away goal in a bizarre way. Guro Reiten struck a 30 meter free kick home 28 minutes into the match. 2 – 0 for the home team.
After the break, Hanna Glas cut in and drove home from just inside the box to restore Bayern. Chelsea went close to leveling things near the end, only for Ji So-yun’s attempt to bounce the wrong side of the line after cannoning from the bottom of the bar.

The Blues’ away goal leaves things nicely on their way into next Sunday’s second stage. The second semi-final is just as close with nothing separating Barcelona and PSG at the Stade Georges Lefevre.
Visitors struck early through Jennifer Hermoso, who returned to haunt her former employers with a 12-minute strike. PSG then leveled things off through USWNT international Alana Cook who nodded home from a corner before the break.
Both teams had chances to win the match in the second half, but neither could convert. Worrying about Barcelona, Hermoso was forced to resign after suffering an ankle injury that could exclude her from the other leg.
