Kylian Mbappe ‘rejects’ fourth contract’ from PSG and wants to move Real Madrid

The roller coaster that is Kylian Mbappe’s future never ends.

Paris Saint-Germain director Leonardo has repeatedly stressed that he is optimistic about reaching a new contract with the Frenchman, who will enter the final year of his current deal this summer, but reports elsewhere continue to suggest something else.

According to Deporte’s Cuatro, PSG’s public trust is nothing more than a way to protect themselves and Mbappe has in fact given them no reason to feel as if he wants to stay at the club.

According to the story, the 22-year-old has already rejected four contract offers from PSG, the last of which included a salary of 35 million pounds per year – 3 million pounds more than Neymar – because he is so determined to sign for Real Madrid.

The delayed negotiations have forced club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to get involved. Al-Khelaifi is ready to do whatever it takes to keep Mbappe and has made it clear that the only way he will leave this summer is if he publicly admits he wants to leave.

That’s exactly what Real wants to see.

Real president Florentino Perez has been waiting for his moment for several years because he knows that Mbappe’s price tag may never be lower than this summer, when his contract expires in the last 12 months.

Perez has not aggressively pursued Mbappe, but only makes sure he knows there is a place waiting for him at the Santiago Bernabeu when he asks for it, but he wants to wait until the Frenchman requests the move before coming in to save the day, rather than worrying Mbappe and PSG as a club with repeated bids.

If PSG do not lower their demand to a “reasonable” level, Real will instead wait until 2022 before going to sign Mbappe on a free transfer.

“Everything is clear, we know Kylian’s situation, he knows what we think, there is nothing more than that,” Leonardo recently told Canal +. “He still has one year on the contract, his decision will come, the important thing today is to win matches.

“We are generally optimistic [about a new deal]. We do not even have a reason not to be optimistic about the future. I ask once again for total concentration. “
