Milan confirm that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a new contract for next season
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has extended his stay in Milan by signing a new contract at the club.
The 39-year-old has excelled since returning to I Rossoneri in December 2019 – scoring 25 goals in 35 Serie A excursions – with his form at the start of the current campaign, Stefano Pioli’s side briefly saw an unlikely title challenge.

A number of injuries have seen the frontman subjected to major incantations throughout the campaign, but that has not stopped him from repeatedly acknowledging his desire to continue in the game.

Milan have now offered him that chance, with Ibrahimovic signing a new contract with the Serie A giants who see him play at Italy’s highest level until he is at least 40 years old.
The Serie A giants confirmed on their official website that the Swedish frontman would stay at the club next season and they took the time to highlight his fantastic goal record over two spells with I Rossoneri.
“Milan have announced that the club has extended Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract,” the statement said.
“Milan is the club that Zlatan has played the most in Italy. After scoring 84 goals in 130 games with Rossoneri, the Swedish striker will continue to wear the red and black jersey next season.”

The former Manchester United man came out of international retirement with Sweden earlier this year and now looks likely to represent his country at Euro 2020.
Currently, he will be fully concentrated in Milan’s league campaign, with a place in the Champions League next season far from certain.
Pioli’s side hold a six-point cushion over Napoli, despite Gennaro Gattuso’s men holding a game in their hand. Milan travel to Lazio on Monday – another side in the hunt for Champions League football – in what could prove to be a decisive match round in the hunt for a top four spot.
