Florentino Perez claims it is “impossible” to sign Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland without Super League money
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has admitted that fans of all clubs can kiss goodbye to the idea of signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe or Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland now that the Super League is dead.
Los Blancos was one of 12 sites that had committed to form the breakaway competition, which had promised to earn all founding members the best part of £ 300 million before the end of the current campaign.
Florentino Perez: “# SuperLeague is not dead, it is on standby and we will work on the project. All 12 founding clubs signed the same contract ”. ?

With that money now gone, Perez told El Larguero that players like Mbappe and Haaland, who come with price tags of over £ 100 million, are no longer realistic goals for any club, including Real.
“In general, there will be no major transfers this summer,” Perez said. “When money does not flow from the rich clubs to the poor clubs, everyone suffers. It is impossible to make signings like Mbappe and Haaland in general, not just for Real Madrid but the Super League.
“If we do not sign Mbappe this summer, I do not think any fan will shoot himself in the head. They know we are doing our best, and if things do not happen, it is because they are impossible. “

With the money now at the Santiago Bernabeu, Perez suggested that some sales may be needed to balance the books.
“It depends on Real Madrid’s situation,” he continued on the subject of sales. “This year we take in 300 million euros less. We have to sell a player, do things.
“I have done what I can so far and I have not done it badly. Even though some say I do not know about football. I know what it is like to enter a club in 2000 where people did not have I put up everything I could and changed the world with Galacticos and went from losing 30 million euros or 40 million euros a year to regaining it. “
Perez also admitted that he wants to keep midfielder Sergio Ramos and claims that the club’s captain is “like a son” to him, but the president was much less optimistic about the idea of keeping defender Raphael Varane.

“Varane? “I’m happy with our team,” he said. If players do not want to stay at Real, they can leave. “
Varane has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United, while Chelsea have also been credited as potential suitors for the 27-year-old.
