after Covid-Organics, the president announces an anti-Covid capsule
Madagascar President Andry Rajoelina announced in a speech on Sunday that Pharmalagasy has started production of a capsule that could “cure malaria, dengue and Covid-19″. This time, the drug, called CVO +, is made from a plant, artemisinin, like Covid-Organics. Malagasy officials promise scientific evidence of its effectiveness.
as reported from Madagascar,
One capsule morning, noon, and evening to avoid having Covid-19. This is the promise of CVO +, which is only waiting for a final arbitration on its price to be put up for sale. Already 20,000 bottles are produced every day at the Pharmalagasy plant.
Pierre Raoelina is general manager and describes the product: “At CVO + there are two variants. There is one that is presented as preventative and the other is a curative version. For now, what we are launching on the market is the preventive version. ”

No scientific evidence
For several months, the head of state of the Big Island, Andry Rajoelina, has been promoting herbal teas, Covid-Organics, to prevent and treat the disease caused by coronavirus. The WHO, very skeptical, has never advised this remedy for without scientific evidence. And in terms of herbal teas, no scientific test proves the effectiveness of preventive CVO +: “With experience from Covid-Organics, we absolutely have to provide scientific evidence if we want to benefit other audiences.” Pierre Raoelina adds.

A Phase 3 clinical trial was to begin within 120 days to test curative CVO +, which was intended to help cure Covid-19. Pharmalagasy expects results from this clinical trial within 2 months.
PR Jean-Baptiste Nikiema, who is responsible for essential medicines in WHO Africa, remains cautious: “We have no documentation for this pill. So it will be difficult for us to say more about the details. For example, on the quality aspects or on the safety / efficiency aspects. ”
Pharmalagasy now says they will turn to the WHO to ensure that the clinical trial complies with international scientific standards and can dispel doubts about this new remedy.
