This week’s Premier League team

It was well worth the wait, right?

After being forced to endure two weeks of international football and constant reminders of how England played teams consisting of plumbers, teachers and mechanics, real football returned this weekend and it was back with a bang.

No less than 38 goals were shared between the 20 Premier League clubs in gameweek 30, with the race for the top four and the battle for survival still wide open after some huge results at both ends of the table.

Anyway, we will not keep yours anymore. Here’s a look at 90min this week’s Premier League team for gameweek 30 …

Aaron Ramsdale (GK) – Forcing twice is hardly something to shout for a goalkeeper, but Leeds could have had five or six if it were not for England Under the 21-pointer. A handful of fantastic saves kept Sheffield United in the game and he did not deserve to be on the losing side comes the final whistle.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – Have it, Gareth Southgate! After being left out of the England squad for his March matches, the Liverpool defender reminded everyone of the quality he possesses with a fantastic delivery that enabled Diogo Jota to open the scoring against Arsenal.

Ruben Dias (CB) – Leicester were far from their best against Manchester City, although the Portuguese rock’s performance had a big hand in keeping Jamie Vardy in check and produced a number of quick interceptions.

Kyle Bartley (CB) – West Brom’s 5-2 victory at Stamford Bridge was undoubtedly the excellent result from the last round of matches and the former Swansea man was a big part of the victory. Even though he was down to ten men, Chelsea still packed a stroke forward and Bartley’s management ensured that his side secured the three points.

Benjamin Mendy (LB) – * Lets ‘Benjamin Mendy play two full games in a row’ klaxon *. Not only did he complete 90 minutes of back-to-back league trips for just the third time this season, he also played really well and gave his side the lead in the second half. He has not yet played 90 minutes of league football in three games in a row this campaign – can their match with Leeds this weekend be it !?

Fabinho (CM) – Arsenal’s midfield was completely exceeded by their Liverpool counterparts, and the Brazilian was present when Jurgen Klopp’s side ensured a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Kevin De Bruyne (CM) – What more can be said about this man? He was able to nutmeg a mermaid from about 30 meters away. Belgium ran the show at King Power Stadium and produced one of the most accurate consistent balls you will ever see when City noted their second night.

Jesse Lingard (AM) – Has there been a better player in the history of football in its current form? We do not believe that. J Lingz is back and his show at Wolves was an absolute master class, with his fantastic solo goal the highlight of the evening. * Decides to pretend he has not noticed Wolves’ defense that looks like four men leaving the pub at 21:59 on June 21 *.

Matheus Pereira (RW) – If West Brom is to have any chance of survival, this man must start doing more, and he really produced the goods at Stamford Bridge. Two goals and two assists in Baggie’s 5-2 victory made Big Sam spin. Imagine the amount of sauce consumed on Saturday night.

Harry Kane (ST) – While Tottenham’s world continues to crumble around them, England’s captain who scores goals remains constant. His two strikes at Spurs’ draw with Newcastle saw him jump over Mohamed Salah to the top of the Premier League standings.

Diogo Jota (LW) – Many mocked Liverpool’s £ 45m purchase of this man this summer, but he proves his worth. The former Wolves man came off the bench to hang a brace as the Reds continued their quest for Champions League football.
