Liverpool tipped to rival Arsenal for the Martin Odegaard deal
Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard, after being impressed by his loan spell at Arsenal.
The Norwegian international has been an important part of Mikel Arteta’s side since he moved to the Emirates Stadium in January, and although he had one of his worst performances in the recent 3-0 loss to Liverpool, he was seen embracing Klopp after the match. .

That image has sent the Spanish press wild, and the latest update on Liverpool’s interest in Odegaard comes from AS, who saw Klopp’s words as something of a “seduction” for the 22-year-old. (Sidenote: how is Odegaard only 22?)
It is noted that Klopp has long been a huge fan of Odegaard and was keen to get him when he moved to Anfield in 2015, just to make it clear to Real that he was not available. However, the situation has changed now as 90 minutes understand Odegaard has been offered many sides in the Premier League, where he hopes to solve if Real forces him out the front door.
Odegaard is perceived to be open to joining Liverpool if he can not stay at Arsenal, who may be struggling to meet the demands of a fee of 40 million pounds and a salary of 200,000 pounds a week.

Liverpool were first mentioned as the suitor for Odegaard by the Daily Star in March, when it was also noted that Chelsea had expressed interest in attracting the Norwegian captain to the blue side of London.
However, Arsenal are said to be convinced that they can convince Odegaard to stay with them next season, perhaps on another loan deal if a permanent transfer is impossible.
Odegaard would like to take the time to consider his next move and would like to see what options are available to him. In addition to the interest from England, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter have asked to be kept aware of his situation.
A move to Liverpool would raise some eyebrows, largely because Klopp’s system does not exactly fit any of Odegaard’s qualities.
Germany’s reliable 4-3-3 would require Odegaard to play a deeper role, and although it is obviously possible, it seems a bit unlikely. A permanent transition to a 4-2-3-1 may be the answer, but whether Klopp will change his favorite tactic just for one player is a completely different matter.
