Bozizé’s controversial support for the uprising
On the eve of Sunday’s vote, former Central African President François Bozizéa said in a vote that he supported the uprising.
And this did not get President Faustin-Archange Touadéra to react, according to which “arrangements will be made accordingly”.
It was the night before Saturday to Sunday that François Bozizé posted his message on social networks. An explicit acknowledgment of his support for the uprising and an appeal to the Central Africans not to go to the polls on Sunday: “Central Africans, Central Africans, stay home. Let Touadéra go and vote on his own. Since he is stubborn and will not listen to anyone, let him go and drop his ballot alone in the ballot. ”
Words that made the president react as he walked to Boganda High School’s polling station. “Every citizen has the right to freely choose their leaders. To deny this right is to drag the country into chaos. You know that it is a country that nevertheless has laws and measures will be taken accordingly, ”the head of state declared without directly quoting François Bozizé.
Ten days ago, François Bozizé promised to play the constitutional game and called for a vote for Anicet Georges Dologuélé. On Sunday, after voting, the latter wanted to believe that the former president’s face would not be followed by effect: “I do not comment on what has been said. I also heard what was on social networks early in the morning. “You know that Central Africans are not on social networks. Those who were able to vote went there, and I think all his activists and voters voted for me, as he recommended.”
Unlike François Bozizé, the opponent regretted that the election was hampered in places and welcomed the enthusiasm observed in the areas where the vote could take place.
