the election of the President of the FEC was canceled
The Prime Minister annulled the election of the President of the Federation of Congolese Companies (FEC). The decision was made on Friday 27 November. The day before, Albert Yuma had been re-elected head of the main employers’ organization. However, one of the candidates for this post considered the procedure to be irregular and the Prime Minister agreed with him.

The election of the President of the Board of the FEC will be organized regularly during the fifteen days from this Friday, the Prime Minister decided. The regulation states that the vote will take place this time by secret ballot.
Candidate Dieudonné Kasembo, who lodged a complaint, believes that everything has been done to ensure that Albert Yuma wins the vote on Thursday. For example, he protests against the obligation of all candidates to go through an older committee that finally decided to eliminate or retain candidates according to unexplained criteria.
This senior committee is made up of former FEC presidents, all or almost all of whom, according to some employer administrators, are involved in Albert Yuma’s cause.
“In addition, the fact that the election takes place by show of hands did not secure my candidacy,” he explained to justify his complaint, which was submitted on Monday.
Internal rules “changed”?
Dieudonné Kasembo also accuses Albert Yuma of modifying the “FEC’s internal rules” to avoid competition for his candidacy. This categorically denies the consequence of the person who has been head of the employers’ organization since 2005.
It is therefore the Prime Minister who will organize the next election of the President of the FEC. Its register registers all potential candidates as well as voters, namely the members of the employers’ organization’s board.
