The 29-year-old’s next career move has been discussed for several months, and with his current contract expiring in the summer of 2022, Les Parisiens has worked hard to tie him to an extended contract.

A move back to Barcelona has been made, with contrasting reports in recent months suggesting that Neymar had not decided what to do next. But after his agent confirmed his intention to stay in Paris, the Brazilian superstar has now said after the Champions League victory against Bayern Munich that doubts that he will sign a new contract is “no longer a topic”.
“The contract extension with PSG is no longer an issue,” Neymar told TNT Sports Brazil. “Of course I feel very comfortable and at home here. I feel happier than before.”
Neymar’s imminent commitment will be music to PSG fans’ ears and ban rumors of a switch to former Barça employers or any other European giant. He has formed a deadly partnership with superstar Kylian Mbappe, and the French’s own future will be next on the club’s agenda.

Like his Brazilian teammate, Mbappe’s contract will expire in 2022 and PSG have not yet agreed on new terms. The Ligue 1 giants are still hopeful that they will be able to convince the World Cup winner to stay, and Neymar’s decision to stay in Paris will increase their confidence in building towards being a consistently great force in Europe.
Neymar and Mbappe showed their quality in PSG’s progression to the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night, dazzling despite losing 1-0 in the evening. Their away win over current Bayern holders serves as a warning to the teams left in the competition, as PSG strive to do better than last year’s final defeat and lift the trophy for the first time in their history.
