One week after his arrest, supporters of Nnamdi Kanu, Biafran’s independence leader, demanded justice. Kanu was arrested on Sunday after four years on the run and taken back to Nigeria, under still unclear circumstances. As he is due to appear in a terror trial next month, supporters of Nnamdi Kanu are gathering behind the scenes.
On social networks, his supporters are demanding a fair trial, while others are demanding immediate release their imprisoned leadersA prison that for Solomon Egbo, an activist in London, should never have taken place.
“Our leader Nnamdi Kanu did not commit a crime, why did they arrest him? He was not even arrested, he was kidnapped by the Nigerian government. The British Government must therefore do something to make Nnamdi Kanu, our leader, a British citizen. We Biafrese need help. Not only from the British Government but also from the Europeans, we need the help of the European Union. The European Council must do something, because Nnamdi Kanu is a European, not just a British citizen, and we need help! ”
The British authorities have not reacted to this deal, except to deny that they have been arrested in the UK. Nnamd Kanu appears to have been arrested in Kenya, but a senior Kenyan official denied the allegations on Friday.

The head of IPOB, the independence movement for the indigenous people of Biafra, is accused by the Nigerian authorities of subversive activities, including incitement to violence. His activists fear that his life is in danger.
