Manchester City have confirmed that Sergio Aguero will leave the club at the end of the season and end a wonderful ten-year association.

The 32-year-old joined City in 2011 and has become the club’s top scorer through the ages and has done so 257 times so far.
He has kicked them to four league titles and looks set to grab a fifth this season with City with a 14-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

But his fifth will be his last as City confirm he will leave when his contract expires in June. Perhaps the club’s best player of all time, Aguero will build a statue in his honor outside the Etihad Stadium.
In a club statement, City Mayor Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: “Sergio’s contribution to Manchester City over the last ten years cannot be overstated. His legend will be erased with memories from everyone who loves the club and maybe even in those who just love football.

“This is not yet the time for parting words and speeches. There is still a lot to achieve the rest of the time we have with Sergio, and we look forward to his contribution to the challenges ahead.
In the meantime, it gives me great pleasure to announce that we will commission an artist to create a statue of Sergio to live at the Etihad Stadium with those under construction for Vincent and David. And we look forward to the opportunity to say goodbye to Sergio at the end of the season. “
City also announced plans to mark their departure with a celebration in their final home game of the season against Everton, hoping that thousands of fans will be able to take part in the Etihad on May 23 to say goodbye to the Argentine.
