The former Manchester United winger spent the last season and a half of Serie A giants Inter, helping the Nerazzurri win Italy’s best title.
The 35-year-old said to the club’s website: “It feels fantastic to be back, it feels like I have not left. I’m just happy to be back, see some old faces, be back at the training ground, see the facilities and how well they have grown.
“You can see how much the club has developed since my time and I’m just ready to start working now.”

“He’s a player who can play in a number of positions, and after talking to him for a long time, I know he’s determined to make a real impact with us this season.”
