Points on several EURO: Ronaldo advances

Not many football players have played on two EUROs; fewer have still scored in more than one of the quadruple tournaments.

We wrestle with facts and pick out the vital statistics and discover that the only man who managed to convert a free kick into two EUROs (clue: he is French); the player who scored all four of his final goals on the same date, albeit at four-year intervals (German); and the forward who has hit the net in record five tournaments (Portuguese, of course!).

Most EURO finals took place in

5 Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020)

Ronaldo managed two goals at EURO 2004, one in 2008, three in 2012 and 2016, and now two more by 2020 to get far away from seven players who had scored three EUROs (see the list at the bottom of this article). He is also the only player to have recorded three or more times on several EUROs.
