Al Ahli has officially announced the signing of Franck Kessie for a three-season contract. The talented Ivorian midfielder is leaving Barcelona, who will receive a transfer fee of 12.5 million euros.

Franck Kessie, formerly of AC Milan, is joining Al Ahli. This Gulf state club already boasts players like Mahrez, Firmino, Edouard Mendy, and Saint-Maximin. It seems that top European footballers are increasingly drawn to the Saudi league.

According to trusted transfer market source Fabrizio Romano, Al Ahli has paid Barcelona 12.5 million euros for the transfer. This fee will help Barcelona comply with the Financial Fair Play rules and possibly allow them to make two more signings, including using funds from the Dembele transfer.

In addition to the financial benefits, Barcelona is also reducing their wage bill, which previously cost them 6.5 million euros per season. On the other hand, Franck Kessie will now earn over 20 million euros per season at Al Ahli.

Juventus and Tottenham tried to persuade Kessie to join their ranks, but their efforts were unsuccessful. In the previous season, Kessie played in 43 games, scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists. His overall record includes 26 wins, 6 draws, and 11 defeats.

It is worth noting that the official announcement of the signing can be found on Al Ahli’s official Twitter account.
