Varane’s Bewildering Revelation: “The Weight of the Shirt is Indescribable” at Real Madrid
Manchester United defender Raphael Varane recently sat down with ‘BT Sports’ to discuss his time at Real Madrid and his thoughts on the club. “Madrid’s jersey is special, but it is heavy to wear,” he admitted.
In a recent interview with ‘GQ’, Varane confessed that he has only three clubs in mind for a possible retirement: Manchester United, Real Madrid, or Lens. However, the option of Real Madrid is more complicated because players don’t usually return to the Spanish club.

Speaking further on his time at Real Madrid, Varane shared that “it was a great responsibility to sign for the club.” He added, “Madrid’s jersey is special, but it is heavy to wear. You could see the fear in the eyes of the opponents. I really loved playing there and all the titles I was able to win. At Madrid I entered a new dimension.”
Despite his successful stint with Real Madrid, Varane revealed that his best memory is winning the 2018 World Cup with France.
