Uganda Selected as the Venue for CECAFA U15 Championship

In November, Uganda will be the host country for the East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Under-15 Championship. Auka Gecheo, the executive director of CECAFA, confirmed that the tournament will take place from November 4-18 at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.

Gecheo expressed his joy about the upcoming championship, stating that it will serve as a preparation platform for teams participating in the U17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next month.

The last time CECAFA held the U15 Championship was in 2019 in Eritrea, where Uganda emerged victorious over Kenya in the final match.

Furthermore, Gecheo revealed that the CECAFA U18 Championship is scheduled to take place in Kisumu, Kenya from November 25 to December 9.

The CECAFA calendar for 2023 will conclude with the Pan African Schools CECAFA Zonal qualifiers, which are set to be held in Nairobi, Kenya from December 10-15.

The 12 CECAFA member countries include Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, and Zanzibar.
