Sudan: People Urged to Return Home in South Darfur After SAF Base Capture, Says RSF Deputy
[Dabanga] In his Friday speech, Abdelrahim Dagalo, the Deputy Commander of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and brother of RSF commander ‘Hemedti’, urged the residents to peacefully return to their homes. This came after the occupation of the main base belonging to the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) 16th Infantry Division in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, on Thursday. To ensure the safety and well-being of the residents, Nyala’s Police Chief, Maj Gen Bashir Issa, has instructed prosecutors to diligently work on securing their protection and providing essential services, such as reopening markets and hospitals.
