Sudan: Ongoing Loss of Life and Displacement Persist Amidst Six Months of Conflict
Tigere Chagutah, the Regional Director for East and Southern Africa at Amnesty International, expressed concern as the ongoing conflict between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) enters its sixth month. The escalating violence has led to the tragic loss of at least 5,000 innocent lives, with over 12,000 individuals suffering injuries. Additionally, a staggering number of 5.7 million people have been displaced against their will. It is disheartening to witness the immense suffering endured by civilians caught in the crossfire of this deadly conflict.
