Northern Somalia Leader Vows Retribution Against Ssc-khatumo Forces In Somalia

Northern Somalia’s regional leader, Muse Bihi Abdi, has expressed his determination to retaliate against the SSC-Khatumo forces after suffering a significant defeat at their hands. This group is fighting to be governed from Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, and their clashes with Northern Somalia forces have resulted in deadly confrontations. Recently, the SSC-Khatumo forces captured a military base in Las Anod, causing the death of numerous soldiers and the capture of others. This region has been the center of conflict between Northern Somalia troops and a clan militia challenging the authority of the self-proclaimed republic. Despite the losses suffered by his army, President Muse Bihi Abdi assured the public that their forces remain intact and vowed to seek revenge against the attacking alliance. The situation in Las Anod is currently calm, but there is a sense of unease among the residents. Tensions have been ongoing since the February clashes, and even medical facilities have been targeted. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has called for dialogue and a peaceful resolution, but both parties have yet to commit. It is uncertain how Muse Bihi Abdi’s forces will respond, but it is likely that they will prepare for a counterattack against the SSC-Khatumo forces.
