The Adamawa State Governorship Election Tribunal in Yola has announced its decision to reject the petition filed by Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the reelection of Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri from the Peoples Democratic Party. In delivering the judgment on Saturday, Justice Theodora Obi Uloho stated that the petitioners failed to provide evidence of non-compliance with the Electoral Act 2022. Binani had disputed the election results, claiming that the process did not adhere to the electoral act.
However, the tribunal, on Saturday, dismissed Binani’s petition and confirmed Fintiri’s triumph.
Following the supplementary election held on April 18, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Fintiri as the rightful winner.
