Manchester United Submits Formal Loan Proposal To Chelsea For Cucurella

Manchester United have officially approached Chelsea regarding a potential loan deal for Marc Cucurella, as per ‘The Athletic’. Both the club and the player have expressed interest in the move, and it appears that negotiations could be concluded swiftly.

The latest reports suggest that Manchester United are progressing towards their late market maneuver. According to ‘The Athletic’, Erik ten Hag’s team has submitted an official proposal to Chelsea for the acquisition of Marc Cucurella, who operates as a defender.

If the deal materializes, the Spanish player will serve as a replacement for the injured Luke Shaw, who occupies the left-back position. With Tyrell Malacia also sidelined, Cucurella’s arrival would provide much-needed cover in that area. The terms of the potential loan agreement include the possibility of permanent transfer clauses, which are currently being discussed between the two clubs.

As of now, Cucurella has been unable to secure significant playing time under Mauricio Pochettino, with Ben Chilwell establishing himself as the preferred choice for the left-back role.

When questioned about the late transfer rumors during a press conference prior to Chelsea’s Carabao Cup match against Wimbledon, Pochettino refrained from commenting on speculation. He stated, “I cannot discuss assumptions or rumors at this moment. As far as I know, nothing has changed. Cucurella is available to play tomorrow, and the club has not informed me of any changes in his situation.”
