Manchester United Player Eriksen Reflects on Team’s Unexpected Results
Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen recently conducted an exclusive interview with ‘United Review’ where he discussed the current state of his team. Expressing his thoughts on their results, Eriksen admitted, “I believe we are not in the desired position when it comes to our performance on the field.”
The hopes of Manchester United challenging for their first league title in 11 years have been dampened considerably. This disappointment followed a lackluster 2-0 defeat against Tottenham and a woeful display against Wolves, despite narrowly securing a 1-0 victory in that match.
Furthermore, the team has been lacking a sharpness upfront with the absence of their new striker, Rasmus Hojlund, due to a back injury, which has been affecting their offensive capabilities.
Christian Eriksen, who has been utilized as a substitute in the last two Premier League games, elaborated on the team’s current situation during the interview with ‘United Review.’ He stated, “I believe we have not achieved the desired results we aimed for. Although it is still early in the season, we must acknowledge that we have started on a better note compared to last season, having earned a few more points. However, we are aware that we can and want to perform at a much higher level. It is challenging to constantly look back at past events, such as the start of last season. Instead, we must focus on the present and put in the effort to bring about change and improve our overall performance, especially after the disappointing game against Spurs a few days ago.”
Last season, Manchester United experienced solid results when the midfield trio of Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, and Casemiro started together, losing only two out of 25 games.
