Lamine Yamal, Young Talent From Barca, Makes Decision On National Team

According to ‘Sport’, Barcelona’s young sensation Lamine Yamal has made his decision regarding his international career. The 16-year-old prodigy, who has been in the spotlight recently, with notable performances for Barcelona’s first team, has chosen to represent Spain over Morocco.

Yamal, who has already showcased his talent by starting two matches for Barcelona’s senior team, has caught the attention of Xavi Hernandez. In his most recent game against Villarreal, he not only provided an assist for Barcelona’s second goal but also hit the woodwork twice with his shots.

These impressive displays have opened the door for Yamal to potentially join the Spanish National Team, despite his young age. However, he had to make a decision between Spain and Morocco, as his father has Moroccan roots. After meetings with Morocco coach Walid Regragui and representatives from the Spanish football federation, Yamal has ultimately chosen to stick with the Spanish team, led by Luis de la Fuente.

If all goes well, Yamal could even make his debut for Spain in September, as he may be included in the squad that will compete against Georgia and Cyprus in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. This would make him the youngest player ever to represent Spain at the international level.
