In Kenya, there has been a wave of protests in the past few weeks, driven by the soaring cost of living.

In an attempt to resolve a political feud resulting from these violent protests and demands for electoral reforms, the Kenyan government has initiated discussions with the opposition.

Raila Odinga, a long-standing opposition leader, has been spearheading a series of demonstrations in recent months.

A minimum of 20 casualties have been reported due to clashes between security forces and protesters, although activists claim the actual number is considerably higher.

Amidst growing domestic and international concern, there are calls for mediation to bring an end to this deadlock.
