Kenya Kin Kidnapped: A Perplexing Dilemma of What to Do?

Kenya Kin Kidnapped: A Perplexing Dilemma Of What To Do?

Hello there, it is Manny Anyango, a digital journalist and social media executive. Today, on Wednesday June 7, 2023, I bring you news that will leave you perplexed and bursting with questions. It appears that cases of kidnap have been on a steady rise, and the motives of these abductors remain completely unknown.

The latest shocking occurrence surrounds the daughter of Media Personality, Ciku Muiruri. Muiruri took to her official pages to make the announcement that her 26-year-old daughter, Erica Gachoka, and a friend of hers, had allegedly been abducted by a taxi driver in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Detectives detailed to investigate the matter stated that a message was later sent to Muiruri’s brother, demanding a bizarre ransom of Sh250,000 to be sent to Erica’s number by close of business Monday – which was sent from Erica’s number itself.

“Please I was kidnapped last 9te (night) by some Somali and I am almost headed to Somalia if 250k is not sent by COB tomorrow. Please help,” read part of the message which has been shared with authorities – yet there has been no word yet from the so-called kidnappers, the family said.

Multi-agency teams have come together to now investigate this frightening occurrence and have talked to various parties they believe can assist them in the probe.

The radio legend herself took to Facebook to share this horrendous experience and call for peace, requesting a special favour from her followers.

One might find themselves completely perplexed, wondering how to handle such a nightmarish situation, whether as the kidnapped victim themselves or as a concerned relative of the victim.

The first step one is expected to take when they receive news or notice that their kin is missing, is to immediately report to the police station and file a report about their missing.

While at the station, it is important to state all the required details like their photo, name, date of birth, where they were last seen and what they were wearing. One is also reminded to remain calm and polite while filing the report.

It is also important to note that if the person filing the report is situated far from where they are supposed to file the report, they can always use our toll-free helpline 0800 223344 or send a message to the Whatsapp Only Line 0704 447 417 instead.

It is always advisable to work closely with the authorities while collaborating with them as investigations are ongoing. And with that, I leave you with these perplexing and bursty news that will keep you wondering.
