Haaland nets Man City’s opening Premier League goal within three minutes
Erling Haaland wasted no time in making his mark on the opening game of the Premier League season as Manchester City took on Burnley at Turf Moor. The defending treble champions were eager to kick off the campaign in style.
And they did just that. In a mere three minutes, Haaland found the back of the net to give Manchester City the lead. This goal marked the team’s first Premier League goal of the new season, courtesy of the Norwegian superstar.

It all started with a well-executed corner-kick by Kevin De Bruyne. The ball was then passed to Rodri, who had been a key player for Guardiola’s squad during the previous season. Rodri swiftly crossed the ball to Haaland, who was waiting in close proximity to the goal, resulting in the opening goal.
Haaland’s debut season with City was remarkable, as he scored an impressive 52 goals during their treble-winning campaign. However, he had struggled to find the back of the net in his last six games for the club. But in just three minutes and four seconds, he snapped his longest goal drought by brilliantly converting Rodri’s header.
If the game ended with this scoreline, it would mean that Manchester City would secure the first three points of the season in the English top-flight.
