Garnacho grabs No. 17 as Manchester United reveals fresh squad numbers

Goodness Gracious! Spurs Are Contemplating A Mind-boggling £50m Offer To Man Utd For None Other Than Sancho Himself In English Football!

Manchester United made an official announcement regarding the squad numbers for the upcoming 2023/24 season. This announcement follows their successful reinforcement of the team during the summer transfer window. One notable change is that Alejandro Garnacho will now wear the No. 17 on his back, replacing his previous No. 49.

Garnacho, who made his debut for the first team on April 28, 2022, against Chelsea, joined Manchester United in 2020 from Atletico Madrid. Despite being only 18 years old, Garnacho has shown great promise and surprised many with his performances last season at Old Trafford.

Previously, Garnacho wore the No. 49 as a member of Manchester United’s academy. However, he has now managed to establish himself in Erik ten Hag’s squad and has earned the privilege of wearing the No. 17 from the 2023/24 season onwards. Interestingly, there were rumors that Garnacho would wear the No. 7, the same number as his idol Cristiano Ronaldo. However, Mason Mount, another new signing in the summer transfer window, claimed the iconic number for himself.

In addition to Garnacho, Manchester United also revealed the squad numbers for their other new signings. Altay Bayindir, the goalkeeper, will wear No. 1, while Rasmus Hojlund, who may make his debut against Arsenal, will don the No. 11 jersey.

Among the loaned players, Sergio Reguilon, who joined from Tottenham Hotspur, will wear No. 15, and Jonny Evans will wear No. 35. The number to be worn by Sofyan Amrabat, the Moroccan star, is still unknown at this time.
