Dhusamareb (AX) – Al-Shabab militants launched an attack in the Barujeed area of Galgadud region, injuring Deputy Commissioner Shaafi Abdi Jama and Commander Osman Hudeey of Guriel district. The deputy commissioner and commander were part of the reinforcement troops who were sent to provide support to the forces under attack at their base in the area.
According to reports, the government forces, along with local militia, successfully defended the army base, inflicting significant losses on al-Shabab. Guriel district Commissioner Farah Abdi Moalim stated that the group’s assault took place just two days after the Somali National Army, backed by international partners, carried out a nighttime operation in the Shabellow forest of the Mudug region. This operation resulted in the elimination of 20 al-Shabab militants.
