The UN Security Council delays the closure of the AU’s transitional mission in Somalia

UNITED NATIONS (Xinhua) – The Security Council on Wednesday adopted a decision to delay the drawdown of two,000 personnel from the African Union Transitional Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) for six months.

In response to the African Union’s request, Decision 2670, which received the Council’s unanimous help, extends the ATMIS withdrawal authorization till 30 June 2023.
