The M23 rebels say the ceasefire agreement between Rwanda and DR Congo does not affect them

Protesters march in eastern DR Congo, a day after regional leaders agreed a deal to end months of rebel attacks. Protesters say the deal does not address Rwanda’s alleged support for the M23 rebels. At the same time, the rebels themselves say that the agreement does not concern them.

An Algerian court is also sentencing 49 people to death for the lynching of a man wrongly accused of starting deadly forest fires last August. The country had maintained a moratorium on executions since 1993.
