Renowned Somali oud participant Abdinasir Moalim Aideed has handed away

Hargeisa (AX) – Renowned musician and oud participant Abdinasir Moalim Aideed handed away in Ethiopia after a bout with most cancers.

Aideed, one of the revered up to date artists, started his music profession in 1986 and shortly grew to become a fan favourite, based on journalist and good friend Omar Serbia.

Quickly after, he recorded albums and carried out in arenas throughout Somalia.

He instructed family and friends that he was impressed to turn out to be a musician after seeing the Danan group in 1983.

Aideed was a member of the SNM and the armed guerrilla group that fought the Siad Barre regime from the Eighties to the Nineties. Throughout this time, artists, together with Aideed, used their work to specific their opposition to the oppressive regime and to name for change. Aided’s poetry specifically performed a central function within the motion.
