Hargeisa (AX) – Northern Somalia President Muse Bihi Abdi fired the Minister of Development and Investment, Abdullahi Abdirahman Aare, and attorney general, Hassan Ahmed Adan.

In a decree from the Presidential Palace on Wednesday, President Bihi appointed Amina Elmi Farid Baded as the minister of Investment.

Abdirahman Jamac Hayaan Horri was appointed as the Attorney General.

The President did not elaborate on why the minister and attorney general were sacked. However, it comes barely days after Northern Somalia opposition leaders declared that they no longer recognize Muse Bihi as a legitimate President after his mandate officially ended on November 13.

Muse Bihi Abdi was elected President of the self-proclaimed republic of the Horn of Africa on a five-year mandate in 2017, and the election was scheduled for November 13, a month before his term expires.
