Mogadishu (AX) – Ministries of Posts and Communications of the Federal Member States suspended cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Posts, Communications and Technology, according to a statement issued on Wednesday.

The state ministries accused the Federal Ministry of Posts of corruptly managing the World Bank’s Digital Integration project, which will begin in the coming weeks and cost $80 million for rebuilding and developing the Ministries of Communication of the State Governments.

They added that the Ministry had enlisted its employees and other people to benefit from the project and that they had declined their calls.

They also accused Minister Jamac Hassan Khalif of severing ties between the two levels and taking actions they were unaware of, such as cancelling several meetings, suspending all workshops for states, and transferring them to the Federal Ministry.

Regional state Ministries of Posts and Communications urged federal leaders to intervene in the project to obtain their rights.

In Augusto 2020, the Ministries of Finance of the states suspended cooperation with the central government in Mogadishu after they accused the federal government ministry of finance of violating the previous agreements.

However, the issue was later resolved, according to the Federal Ministry of Finance.
