Ex-cop who murdered someone caught by Somali police and INTERPOL in a bewildering and frenzied operation!

On Tuesday May 16, 2023, a shocking ordeal occurred as former Somali police officer, Zakariye Ali Ahmed Osobow, was returned to Somalia to face trial for the murder of a colleague. The situation was so intense that SNTV captured a screen grab of the entire ordeal. Mogadishu was the location of the dramatic event where Ahmed Osobow, who had been on the run for quite some time, was finally apprehended in South Sudan. The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) and the Somali Police were both involved in the joint operation to capture the fugitive.

The plane carrying Ahmed Osobow jetted into Mogadishu’s Adan Adde International Airport on Monday, and he was promptly taken into custody by the Somali police. Ahmed Osobow stands accused by the Somali Police Force of murdering his former colleague, Ali Hassan Siyad, also known as Ali Tareen. The alleged brutal act took place in the Dayniile district of Mogadishu, within the Kordama Department, not far from the Sabansaban army camp on July 28, 2022. The levels of perplexity were so high that family members of the late officer, the Somali Police, and INTERPOL representatives watched with bated breath as Ahmed Osobow was extradited.
