Doku’s thoughts on joining Man City: “The Premier League seems tailor-made for me”
Jeremy Doku has officially joined Manchester City from Rennes. The talented Belgian striker recently gave his first interview with Sky Blues and expressed his excitement for the start of his new adventure in the Premier League.
At the age of 21, Jeremy Doku is said to have been acquired by the European champions for a reported fee of £55 million. Throughout his career, Doku has showcased his skills by scoring 12 goals in 92 appearances for Rennes, following his breakthrough as a teenager with Anderlecht in his home country.
Doku is City’s third signing in the current transfer window, alongside Croatian internationals Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol. The club, which achieved a treble last season, was in search of a winger to fill the void left by Riyad Mahrez, who joined Saudi side Al-Ahli.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be here. Manchester City is an enormous club, and I can’t contain my excitement to get started. Working with a top coach will undoubtedly enhance my abilities as a player, and I am eager to learn from him,” Doku expressed in his initial interview with the English club.
“As a footballer, I possess speed, strength, and a knack for dribbling. These are the qualities I rely on, along with my technical prowess. My ability to dribble past opponents, my speed, and my creativity are all attributes that I can bring to the table.”
