Confirmed: Ramos, An Icon Of Madrid, To Embark On New Journey With Sevilla As Free Agent Until 2024

It is now official news that Sergio Ramos has made the decision to strengthen Sevilla’s defense this season, rejecting lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia. The 37-year-old footballer has returned to his hometown to play for the seven-time Europa League champions until 2024. Ramos, who had previously left Paris Saint-Germain in June, has joined Sevilla as a free agent. Despite receiving tempting offers from Saudi Arabia, he has chosen to continue his career with his first team.

Ramos began his professional football journey in the academy of the Andalusian club. Within just two seasons, he made his way up to the first team and played there for three seasons before moving to Real Madrid. During his 16 seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Ramos became a legendary figure for Real Madrid. However, he signed with Paris Saint-Germain for the 2021/22 season and did not have his contract renewed earlier this summer.

As a result, Ramos has been training on his own until now. However, he will soon don the colours of Sevilla as the La Liga side has made his transfer official, just before submitting the list of Champions League players. The opportunity to play in Europe has been a decisive factor in Ramos’ decision, as he desires to continue competing at the highest level. In order to play in the Champions League for Sevilla, he will be registered as an academy player. Sevilla is in Group B alongside Arsenal, PSV, and Lens.

Negotiations for his transfer have been ongoing for months, but an agreement has finally been reached between all parties involved. Ramos, the former Spain international, will play for Sevilla until June 2024 at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium. Sevilla is currently experiencing a poor start to the La Liga season, failing to secure a single point in the last three games. Their match against Atletico Madrid on matchday 4 was postponed due to heavy rain.

Moving forward, it will be Sergio Ramos’ responsibility, along with his new teammates, to improve their performance in the upcoming domestic matches.
