After his potential move to Bayern Munich was unexpectedly called off, Joao Palhinha has been forced to return to England. However, this may only be a temporary setback, as Bayern Munich is determined to pursue his signing in the upcoming transfer window, set to open in January 2024.

It’s a familiar scenario that occurs frequently on the last day of the transfer window. Bayern Munich had originally planned to secure the services of Joao Palhinha. Unfortunately, the deal could not be completed due to Fulham’s inability to find a suitable replacement for the player before the deadline.

Understandably, this situation left the player feeling frustrated, especially since he had already traveled to Germany to undergo a medical examination. Nonetheless, according to reports from the British press, the Bavarians have not forgotten about Palhinha and are preparing to make a renewed effort to sign him in four months’ time, when the next transfer window opens.

According to the London Evening Standard, Thomas Tuchel still considers Palhinha an important target for strengthening his midfield, particularly after Ryan Gravenberch’s departure to Liverpool.

On the other hand, Fulham is not opposed to letting go of the former Sporting CP player, as long as they are able to find a suitable replacement for him.
