Now again with Arsenal’s first workforce for a whole pre-season, Saliba has revealed that he saved up thus far with North London’s matches to know how he would slot in.

“When I was on loan, I looked at every single one [Arsenal] games because when I was there some players were not. I watched the matches to see how they played, so when I was back it would be easier to play with those I had not met before, he says to the club’s website.

“It’s essential that the followers are behind you, and I like that greatly. I cannot wait to offer again to them.”

Saliba added that he has been in close contact with manager Mikel Arteta and looks forward to having the chance to impress everyone at the club ahead of the new season.

“We talked a bit on Monday and can speak extra,” he added. “My plan is to struggle and work with the workforce, win as a lot as doable and develop extra.

“It feels good to be back and start the pre-season. I am so excited to continue training and playing in the friendly matches. It is important to be here with the fans, as well as my teammates. I hope we will enjoy some good training and games, which is important before the start of the season. “
