Tottenham players to back Kane during transfer saga – Sanchez

Davinson Sanchez has said the Tottenham players are committed to supporting “the humble” Harry Kane, regardless of how the saga of his future unfolds.

England captain Kane has been widely linked with a money transfer to Premier League champions Manchester City.

City head coach Pep Guardiola has expressed his desire to sign Kane, who had asked Spurs to allow him to leave at the end of last season.

Tottenham have reportedly turned down a £ 100million offer for the 28-year-old striker in June and are preparing another offer before the transfer window closes.

Recent reports suggest City are said to be ready to bid up to £ 150million for Kane, who has three years left on his contract with Tottenham.

The saga dragged on and Kane missed last Sunday’s meeting between the two sides in their opening Premier League game, which Spurs won 1-0.

Kane was included in boss Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad for their Europa Conference qualifying double header against Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira.

And defender Sanchez has claimed the Tottenham side will help Kane through a rough patch any way they can.

“I am his teammate so I cannot go into the situation further,” Sanchez told Football London.

“This is a situation that is being discussed between Harry and the above people.

“We’re just there to support him and if anything happens we’ll always be by his side.

“If he’s lucky enough to be with us on the pitch, of course he’s going to help us, there’s no doubt about it.

“We are right on his side and any decision that comes or that he takes then we are going to support him because he gives everything for the club.”

Sanchez added: “Everyone here knows how professional he is and no one can doubt his quality as a player, his quality as a person and his professionalism, as I say.

“Harry is the best number nine in the world. There’s no question about it. If someone says otherwise, they just don’t understand football.

“In my position he helps me a lot as a player and as a captain he’s been very humble and he’s a very good person.

“I could go on, I will never dwell on how good he is as a person.”
