Sorloth Secures Four Goals in Villarreal’s Epic Comeback Against Real Madrid

Alexander Sorloth’s four-goal spree left Real Madrid speechless as Villarreal clawed back from a three-goal deficit to end in a 4-4 draw on Sunday.

Sorloth, the Villarreal forward, hammered home four goals in just 17 minutes, leading his team to snatch a home draw against LaLiga champions Real Madrid during the exciting game.

Real Madrid took the lead in the 14th minute, with Turkey’s youngster Arda Guler netting a low strike from a Brahim Diaz pass. The lead was then doubled by Joselu with a close-range header.

Villarreal’s hope was restored when Sorloth scored a towering header in the 39th minute. However, Lucas Vazquez quickly regained Madrid’s two-goal lead in the final minute of the first half, making it 4-1.

After the break, Villarreal launched a strong comeback led by Sorloth, who scored three goals in just eight minutes between the 48th and 56th minutes. With this remarkable achievement, he reached 23 league goals this season, the highest of any player.

Carlo Ancelotti will be disappointed by the second-half collapse, especially with a Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund looming on June 1. Despite this setback, Madrid marks another record here.

Real Madrid has now beaten their best unbeaten run in LaLiga history, with 31 games undefeated, surpassing the previous record set between May 1988 and April 1989 under coach Leo Beenhakker.

In a data analysis, Sorloth’s performance was outstanding, with a total of nine shots attempted in the game, the highest by any player in LaLiga this season. This exceptional effort led to his remarkable four-goal feat.

Before this game, Sorloth had played five games against Madrid without scoring, a record unmatched against any other opponent in the competition. Still, he delivered an impressive performance against the LaLiga giants.
