Paul Pogba reminds the world how good he really is
It’s not hard to understand why Paul Pogba loves international breaks so much.
When he wears the blue jersey in France, he becomes one of the most popular players on the planet. His own fans love him and even rivals can not help but admit that they look great when he goes out on the field.
During this summer’s European Championships, Pogba has undoubtedly been one of the best players. The midfielder has consistently excelled in all areas of the pitch and has helped to mask France’s issues. Les Bleus have not even been so good this summer, but because of Pogba (and a few others) they are still seen as favorites to win it all.
What makes Pogba’s situation so strange is that these notions of the euro are at the same time a huge surprise and the least shocking ever.
Back in 2018, Pogba completely damaged the entire planet on its way to lifting the World Cup. We ended that summer convinced that he was the greatest midfielder in the game, and then the next three years happened.
Pogba has struggled to replicate its international form. He has not been bad, but the Frenchman has not looked like the undisputed superstar he is for his country.

The slightly above average performances have left many United fans demanding that he be sold, and speculators have joined the fray by questioning who actually wants to sign him. How could any team believe that Pogba is worth a lot of money?
Well, because he actually is.
With France, the Pogba is this perfect machine. He is a physical powerhouse that can disrupt attacks, but just as happy to jump past a defender with the ball at his feet or ping a 40-yard pass across the field to keep his side forward. When he uses his full set of skills, he is impossible to quit.
Pogba is the dream partner with France, and he says that he has more freedom when he plays for his country than when he plays for his club.
That counts for Karim Benzema!

“[With France] we play a 4-2-3-1, in a diamond too, “he said recently.” I’m a little more involved in the construction, in the construction. But I have more freedom than in Manchester to get into the box, to run forward. “
We’ll see it in full screen this summer. Pogba has been everywhere for France and almost opened his account for the competition with a great curling effort against Portugal. It’s not his job to score, but blessed with the freedom to actually try, Pogba looks as dangerous as ever.
We do not get this version of Pogba at United. Instead of letting N’Golo Kante do his dirty work, Pogba has to get his hands dirty with Scott McTominay, Fred or Nemanja Matic. None of them can boast of Kante’s work frequency at the back (is there anyone?), So Pogba has to chip in, and it goes at the expense of some of that feeling at the other end of the field.
The famous question of “How can United get the best out of Pogba?” is still being asked, and the fact that no one has found out about it during his five years at the club has made fans feel rightly frustrated. How can a player be so good, yet so difficult to actually make the most of? If a player needs Kante’s superhuman talents to help him, can he really be that good?

Until Pogba can transfer his international form to his club, these questions will still be asked, and there will be many fans convinced that Pogba is not worth it.
You just have to see him play for France to see why United do not agree.
