Olympiacos Shocks Aston Villa in Europa Conference League Upset

Unai Emery’s hopes of clinching yet another European title are in jeopardy after Aston Villa’s 4-2 loss at home to Olympiacos.

The Villa fans were left shocked by Olympiacos’ dominant performance in the Europa Conference League semi-final leg.

Ayoub El Kaabi stole the show with a hat-trick, putting his team 2-0 ahead within the first 30 minutes. Watkins and Diaby brought Villa level, but El Kaabi’s penalty and Hezze’s brilliant goal secured the win. Douglas Luiz’s missed penalty added insult to injury.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina edged ahead in their semi-final against Club Brugge with a 3-2 aggregate lead.

M’Bala Nzola became Fiorentina’s hero by scoring the decisive goal in stoppage time. Vanaken and Sottil’s penalties were matched by Belotti’s strike before Thiago’s equalizer fell short.
