Nuno praises Kane’s contribution to Wolves’ victory

Nuno Espirito Santo has praised Harry Kane for helping Tottenham beat Wolves 1-0 on Sunday.

Kane came in as a late replacement and, despite making it clear that he wants to leave the club, received applause from the travel support. He almost scored as well, just to keep his efforts out of Jose Sa.

After the match, where Dele Alli scored the only goal from the penalty spot, Santo toasted Kane’s contribution.

“He did well, he helped the team. He is still improving his condition. But he is one of the best players in the world. You can see that he helped the team in possession, he says.

Espirito Santo was also pleased to see fans react positively to the return of their talisman.

“I was pleased with the attitude of the fans,” he said. “We have to be together. We have fantastic fans and must be grateful for that. ”

Kane is still not match-shaped after undergoing a disrupted pre-season. He did not start training until this week after being forced to isolate himself after returning from holiday.

“He’s better today and he’s going to be better tomorrow,” Nuno said of Kane’s condition. “He can still improve, we can not put a bar on it.”

Kane will compete in the second leg of the Spurs UEFA Conference League play-off against Pacos de Ferreira on Thursday. Santo, however, refused to confirm whether he would be named in the squad. Spurs go into the return game 1-0 after a pitiful performance in Portugal last week.

Although 90min understands that Tottenham are determined to keep Kane at the club, City remain interested and still believe they can sign him before the transfer window closes. The player himself is extremely eager to move, but he has been left in limbo by the citizens ‘unwillingness to pay Spurs’ price.
