Liverpool transfer news: Red card list Jarrod Bowen

Liverpool could make a move for West Ham striker Jarrod Bowen if Divock Origi or Xherdan Shaqiri leave Anfield this summer.

Bowen enjoyed a promising 2020/21 campaign, which was his first full season in the Premier League. He played in all of Hammer’s league games, scored eight goals and recorded five assists. His form helped West Ham secure a surprising sixth place.

Bowen’s energetic and clinical displays have caught Liverpool’s attention. According to Athletic, he is one of several players on a shortlist of potential attacking targets if the Reds lose Shaqiri or Origi under the current window.

Both players were used sparingly last season. Origi made only 17 appearances in all competitions while Shaqiri only showed 22 times. The Reds are open to letting both players resign even if the interest in the pair is not great. At present, Shaqiri seems most likely to leave with Lazio said to be interested.

Jurgen Klopp is considered a big fan of Bowen and it is easy to imagine that he hits well at Anfield, albeit as a back-up initially. He works hard, can play over the front line and also has plenty of time to improve at just 24. Although a deal can not be struck this summer, Liverpool are ready to follow his development closely in the coming years.

Due to his obvious talent, West Ham will obviously stick with Bowen, especially with a Europa League campaign to fight with next season. David Moyes operated with a close-knit group last semester and he may need to recruit some new faces to reduce the workload.

One of their most important goals is Jesse Lingard, who set the world on fire after agreeing on a loan from Manchester United in January. They will face stiff competition for his signature, but Atletico Madrid among the clubs are monitoring the situation.
