Liverpool expected XI against Burnley in the Premier League

Liverpool will build on last week’s 3-0 away win over Norwich when they face Burnley at Anfield during Saturday’s early kick-off.

This will be an emotional match for Liverpool, as it will be their first home competition with a full audience since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here’s how the Reds are expected to line up.

Alisson Becker (GK) – After dropping the ball out of Adam Idah’s path last week to ensure Liverpool got a zero against the Canary Islands, the striker will want a repeat in front of a packed Anfield.

Trent Alexander -Arnold (RB) – After missing Euro 2020 due to injury, the attacking hill looked fresh and well rested last week on Carrow Road, with its ability to get ahead and cross as sharply as ever.

Virgil van Dijk (CB) – The defensive juggernaut made a triumphant return to the Premier League last weekend after missing the last ten months due to injury. He was cool, calm and collected when Liverpool left Norwich with a clean sheet.

Joël Matip (CB) – One of the biggest questions this year for Liverpool is who will work with van Dijk in defense. Matip is the obvious choice given their consistent chemistry. But with the arrival of Ibrahima Konaté and the return of Joe Gomez, Matip will have to produce every weekend to secure his place in Klopp XI.

Kostas Tsimikas (LB) – After playing periodically for the Reds during the 2020/21 season, the Greek hill announced the Liverpool fans with a nice show on Carrow Road last weekend. Not only was he defensively healthy, but he attacked excellently with runs down the left flank. Tsimikas will also try to send a message to Klopp, with Andrew Robertson now back in light training.

Fabinho (DM) – The anchor for Liverpool’s midfield game is expected to get his first Premier League start at Anfield this weekend.

Naby Keïta (CM) – Many questions have been asked this summer about Liverpool’s midfield, especially with Gini Wijnaldum’s departure. Keïta got up and hit last week and passed the season’s first test with flying colors.

Alex Oxlade -Chamberlain (CM) – After a nice showing last weekend at Norwich, the midfielder is expected to get his second start of the season on Saturday. He will give an important sense of urgency in Liverpool’s midfield, which will compliment the conservative duo Fabinho and Keïta.

Mohamed Salah (RW) – After his curling shot to the ceiling online sealed the three points last week, the Egyptian will try to take that momentum to Anfield on Saturday.

Diogo Jota (ST) – The Portuguese forward got Liverpool’s season off to a perfect start last week with its first half strike. After Roberto Firmino’s impressive performance in the second half, Jota will want to produce to cement his place as a regular start for Klopp.

Sadio Mané (LW) – Mané was the only Liverpool forward not to score at Norwich last week, and after a disappointing 2020/21 campaign, he will try to get on the results list when a full Anfield crowd returns.
