Jorginho’s agent wants contract talks

Jorginho’s agent has revealed that he has been contacted regarding the midfielder’s availability, but his priority is to secure a new deal at Chelsea.

The Italian has been one of the outstanding artists during Euro 2020, and some even claim that he deserves to be in the race for the Ballon d’Or after reaching the final of this summer’s competition just over a month after becoming known as a Champions League winners.

With Jorginho’s stock currently the highest it has ever been, his agent Joao Santos was asked if there had been contact from other clubs about a possible move from west London.

And although he confirmed that there had been a strategy from at least one unnamed club, Santos added that his priority is to start talks with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia over a new deal for his client.

“Yes [there’s been contact from other clubs], but our first thought is to talk to Marina Granovskaia about the renewal, “he told Radio Marte (via metro). This is truly a very important moment in his career, he has been waiting for it for 20 years. “

While Santos’ comments seemed to suggest that Jorginho intended to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer, the agent continued to question his client’s future by discussing how coveted the midfielder will be this summer.

“Today, Jorginho’s valuation is around 50 million euros,” he added. “If a team arrives … obviously he has made it to many finals.”

Maurizio Sarri worked with Jorginho in both Chelsea and Napoli, and he believes that the midfielder’s qualities often go unnoticed because he makes the game seem so simple.

“He’s a refined player, probably not understood by everyone,” he said. “You have to put your eyes on him and just look at him in the game. He is so good and intelligent that he makes everything seem simple, rarely is there anything spectacular left in your eyes. That is its greatness.”
