Jamal Musiala excited by the prospect of meeting England

Jamal Musiala has admitted that he is looking forward to meeting England next Tuesday and says that he has already contacted Jude Bellingham about the game.

Hungary from Bayern Munich made his big international tournament debut on Wednesday night and he played a key role in securing Germany’s passage to the next round.

Joachim Low’s men will now face England in the 16s – the country Musiala represented as a youth before changing allegiance – and he says he can not wait to play at Wembley Stadium against the Three Lions, while adding that he has already spoken with former England youth teammate Bellingham.

“It’s a match against my second home, it’s going to be a cool game, I’ve already talked to Jude a bit,” he said, reported by Goal. “At Wembley against England – it will be cool. Good match, good atmosphere. We look forward to playing this match. “

While Musiala may have only been given ten minutes of Die Mannschaften’s 2-2 draw against Hungary on Wednesday night, his appearance saw him become Germany’s youngest player ever at a major tournament.

The 18-year-old said that he was very happy to have been able to help the team advance to the next round and that the big opportunity did not affect his self-confidence.

“I just went in with full confidence and tried to do something,” he added. “I’m happy to help and proud to play for this team. I was very happy when Leon scored the goal.”

Low was full of compliments for the teenager to have seen his comedy appearance, which means that it may not be the last we see of Musiala’s dazzling talents at Euro 2020.

Musicals were bold, secured balls. It was a very appealing performance, he told the Bavarian official website.

The winner of Germany’s match against England goes on to the quarterfinals to face either Sweden or Ukraine on July 3.
